Yesterday was National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!

Have you ever substituted an ingredient in a recipe because you didn’t have it on hand? Well, that is just what Ruth Grave Wakefield did in 1937 at her Cod-style Inn called “The Toll House”.

Yes, that is where the famous recipe on the back of Nestle’s Chocolate Chips came from. It all started with a less known Butter Drop Do cookie and became the renowned Toll House Chocolate Chip cookie.

Don’t be afraid to get creative! You may be the next Ruth Wakefield!
